Vallbona is located within the limits of the urban Barcelona and it is one of the few agricultural redoubts that still remain in the metropolitan area. This zone has to deal with all the factors that define the post-modern XXI centuy city. The huge structural force of communication infraestructures, the isolated situation of medium-size industries, the lack of social services,  the misplacement of housing buildings or the important presence of  territorial elements such as the Besòs river or Collserola.

There are three main forces that define and structure this area: agriculutre, industry and the city. Our project relate each other finding a central space where we place some social facilities that bring services to this three sectors. We also place in this central area  train station, and an acces to the highway, connecting this border zone with the whole Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
